How much does private tuition cost?

County Tutors does not set the tuition fees, but we do strongly recommend a scale of fee to our tutors and most of them currently charge as follows:

Primary - £20 per hour

11+/KS3 help with special needs - £20 per hour

GCSE/C entrance - £22 per hour

AS/A level - £24 per hour

Degree/Further Education - £25 per hour

Foreign languages conversation - £18-£22 per hour

Musical instruments, singing, elocution, crafts etc (limited availability)
- Within the above range according to level.

Fees are paid directly to the tutor at the end of each lesson

If a significant amount of travelling to the student's home is involved, tutors may ask for a contribution towards the expense. The agency is not involved in this arrangement.

Small groups can sometimes be arranged at a lower cost. When more than one family member or friend participates in a lesson, 25%-50% of the fee per hour is added to the one-to-one charge for each additional person, depending on the level of tuition.

Clients do not pay anything directly to the agency and do not have to book multiple lessons in advance. Agency fees are included in the prices quoted above and are passed on to the agency by the tutor.
